Leafa Mataele Wawryk, is truly a lady with a big heart. When in December she heard that HRH Princess Pilolevu Tuita, Hon. Tuita and their children, Hon. Fanetupou Vava'u, Hon. Halaevalu Moheofo, Hon. Frederica Fatafehi Lapaha, Hon. Sione Ikamafana and their cousin, Hon. 'Etani Tuku'aho were on holiday in Los Angeles, Leafa decided to host a private 21st birthday party for Hon. Frederica.

Leafa said that the reason for the surprise birthday party was because she could not make it to Tonga for the official 21st birthday party of the Hon. Frederica on 4 November 2004.

On December 23 Leafa hosted the private birthday party at the Wilshire Grand Hotel, Los Angeles, and among the guests were some Hollywood movie stars. Leafa is the daughter of Joe Tu'ilatai Mataele of Nuku'alofa.

Photos were taken by DJ 'Big Paul' Paul Tu'ivai, the first Tongan to make it big in the USA music industry, he is a music producer for Universal, and popular DJ for KMEL LA.

Hon. Tuita leads his daughter, Hon. Frederica in the opening number.

Tissa Naeata (a cousin), Hon. Fanetupou Vava'u, and Hon. Halaevalu Moheofo.

Hon. Tuita, HRH Princess Pilolevu, a friend and Cary Hiroyuki-Tagawa. Cary starred in Big Trouble in China, Planet of the Apes, Pearl Harbor and the upcoming move, Elktra, now in US theatres.

Among the invited guests were family and friends, ...Ana Faiva'ilo, Natasha, Jose Bolanos, 'Ani Mapa, Mataele Finau, and Fatafehi Mataele.
