Roslynn Mahe, a talented singer of Tongan and Samoan heritage, has made it into the semi-finals of an international contest that is seeking extraordinary female singers.

Roslynn was selected as one of 25 semi-finalists from around the world, in Avon's first Online Global Talent Search, announced on July 1.

The songstress, now vying to become the next global singing sensation, will travel to Hollywood on July 14 for the semi-final round that entails professional vocal coaching, makeovers, interviews and video performances.

Born and raised in New Zealand, Roslynn (37) has had an incredible journey after she was first selected as one of 136 contenders from over 6,000 contenders worldwide, in the first round of the online talent search launched in March.

In May, she successfully made it through as one of the 75 contenders in round two.

"I'm now the only one left representing the UK and the only Polynesian contender in the final 25 from around the globe so I can only be thankful and blessed to get here," she said.

Online voting

Roslynn and her fellow semi finalist contenders will post their performance videos online with voting to start on July 22 and end on August 26. Only 10 finalists will be determined by online public voting and Avon Voice judges. The finalists will announced on September 8.

Roslynn knows this competition has been a long arduous process.

"I just wanted to say thank you very much for your patience, kindness and time to support the journey it means so much to me," she said.

Avon Voices is searching for two extraordinary female singers to record a professionally produced album. Finalists will perform on November 2, in front of a live audience at the Avon Foundation Gala in New York City.

Meanwhile, a Tongan singer Olivia Kolo (24) who was a round two contender did not make it into the semi-final.
