A dog chasing its own tail [1]

Editor,

THE Prime Minister and Parliament's latest round of wasteful ideas are true signs of "Crisis Management" mentality (PM launches new study, 07 Aug 2011).

They should save the time and money to be spent on this project that looks like "a dog chasing its own tail" show: They are feverishly trying to accomplish something, but actually not getting anything done.

The job belongs to the government's Auditor General. What does PR Mr. Pohiva and Dr. Sitiven Halapua know about accounting procedures, let alone auditing? Politicians should have outlined the rules of the game, and the standards to be observed before constructions started. Professionals are then left to monitor the progress.

Proactive vs. Crisis Management

These are signs of inefficient leadership and mindless management who are sailing in a leaking ship without a rudder. Before embarking on such a massive project, operational managers should have proactively identified the risks, threats, and problems to be mitigated and avoided.

The Auditor General's team of experts are the ones with the valid knowledge and experience to perform this kind of audit. Parliament's frantically staging busy bodies at work is nothing but inefficient "crisis management" miscalculations.
