Missing trekker found on 'Eua [1]

Police searching for a missing 30-year-old New Zealand tourist who failed to return from a trek on 'Eua on Friday, reported that the woman had been found alive and well.
The woman went trekking on October 21 and the police at 'Ohonua were alerted at midnight on Friday when she did not return. The search concentrated on the northern part of 'Eua near Fangatave Beach on Saturday morning and the woman was found near Houma village.
Acting Police Commissioner Taniela Faletau said today that the police appreciated the help of a local tour guide and the community.
Crime report
Last week police investigators arrested a man (44) from Fonoi Island, living at Lapaha, and charged him with the theft of an outboard motor engine valued at T$9,00 form Ha'atafu in September. The suspect will appear at the Nukunuku Magistrate's Court on October 27. An outboard motor engine was recovered.
Police reported a total of 57 criminal offences between October 17-23, compared to 60 the previous week.
There were 32 offences recorded at Nuku'alofa, seven each at Mu'a and Nukunuku, five at Vaini and six at Neiafu, Vava'u. They included one case of manslaughter by negligence.
Theft was the most reported crime with 17 offences, followed by housebreaking and common assault with 12 offences each.
