Government offices closed from December 23 to January 2 [1]

THE Government of Tonga will close down for the Christmas and New Year holidays between December 23 and January 2.

The last day of work for government offices this year will be Thursday, December 22.

The Prime Minister's Office in Nuku'alofa confirmed on December 6, that Cabinet had approved the holiday dates about two weeks ago.

Government offices will reopen in the new year at 8:30am on Tuesday, January 3, 2012.
