6.3 undersea earthquake close to Tonga [1]

A magnitude 6.3 earthquake centred only 90 km SSE of Nuku'alofa was recorded at 3:34 pm today Saturday 13 February, but no damage has been reported.

The tremor was slightly felt in the capital.

According to the US Geological Survey the quake was located at 21.915oS, 174.797oW at a depth of 10 km (6.2 miles).

No tsunami bulletins were issued at this time.
