Digicel Tonga has donated $5,000 to the Sustainable Coastlines' initiative "Keep Ha'apai Clean and Beautiful", a huge coastal cleanup taking place at villages on Foa and Lifuka, Ha'apai today, October 15.

The cleanup is organised by the new charitable organization, Sustainable Coastlines, and has over 100 volunteers coming from New Zealand for this special event.

The massive cleanup involves over 2000 local students taking a day out of school to help clean their environment, along with volunteers taking time out from their daily schedules.

Digicel CEO David Butler said, "We are delighted to be sponsoring this massive community initiative. The work of 'Sustainable Coastlines' is incredible and we hope this is going to be a massive success for all involved, we are looking forward to working with Sam and the team again in the future."

Digicel, mobile operator, continues to reach out to the community in various ways, with donations to the Alonga Centre, staff fundraising activities, free subscriptions to the Mango Tree Centre for the disabled and the Tonga National Women's and Children's Centre. - Digicel Tonga.
