Bruno is a name that is known to almost all the children of the Pacific islands.
Bruno Loyale, man of many talents, comedian, juggler and entertainer, is the man behind the travelling Magicland Circus, bringing joy to children in 12 Pacific Island countries during the year.
Bruno has for the last three years made Tonga as his last stop before going home to Samoa for Christmas.
Of a French and Italian extraction Bruno said he was born into the circus and had learned the business from his parents who had spent all their lives entertaining people around the world. "I grew up in the circus and I never dreamt of living any other life because I love entertaining. Over the years I have learned that entertainment is a very important part of life, which is why I am bringing Magicland to them," said Bruno..
Bruno said that after travelling around the world he fell in love with the South Pacific, especially Samoa, so he became a Samoan citizen and made Samoa his home.
Bruno said that the Magicland consists of 15 rides for all ages ranging from Ferris wheel to Octopus Ride, magic shows, acrobats, jugglers, and cycling. "Every year I either change rides or replace them with better ones and the shows are never the same, which what I want it to always be, unique," he said.
Bruno said that to move the Magicland Circus around the Pacific Islands is an expensive exercise. "We spend about US$400,000 dollars every year moving Magicland, which goes into 15 containers, as well as flying my 25 employees, and in most places we barely make it by the skin of our fingers, but whatever we get ensures Magicland keeps going", said Bruno.
Magicland will be leaving Tonga next week.
