Tonga's 'Atenisi University prides itself on being different, and for this year's graduation, on Friday November 12, it was a rare occasion for a brother and a sister to become the duxes.
'Atunaisa Tonga Fonua, was awarded with a Bachelor of Science degree and was the Dux with High Distinction of the Bachelor Class, and his younger sister, Folaukovi ki Ha'angana Fonua was awarded with an Associate of Arts degree, and was the Dux with distinction of the Associate Class. 'Atunaisa and Folaukovi are originally from Ha'apai, but are now residing in Mataika, Tongatapu.
A total of 17 students graduated from 'Atenisi this year, seven with Bachelor degrees and ten with Associated of Arts Degrees. The degrees were awarded by the guest of honour, the founder of 'Atenisi University, Professor Futa Helu. Also present at the ceremony were the Australian High Commissioner, Mr Colin Hill, Members of Parliament and parents.
