Ma'ufanga Primary School celebrates gift from Japan [1]

Six new classrooms for Ma'ufanga Government Primary school were officially opened on Friday October 22 by Mrs Kalolaine Fakafanua.

Funded under a Japanese grant for Grassroots Human Security Projects, the new classrooms are valued at Tongan $116,459. Mr Mitsuo Ishikawa, the Resident Representative for JICA Tonga office handed over the new classrooms for Class Five and Six to the Interim Minister of Education, Hon Paula Bloomfield.

It is the second time the Government of Japan has assisted the school since 2000 when it first granted TOP$70,745 for the construction of two classrooms.
