Tongan rugby player dies suddenly in France [1]

Fe'ao Latu.

Fe'ao Latu, a 28 year old Tongan flanker for the Perigueux Club tragically died of a heart attack after collapsing during a game in France on Sunday, January 11.

The Cahors Rugby Club confirmed that Fe'ao collapsed in the 17th minute during a game against them in the French Third Division at Lucien Desprats stadium in Cahors, Southwest France.

They reported that Fe'ao was rushed to the hospital but doctors were unable to revive him.

Family members in Fo'ui, Tongatapu confirmed today that they received the terrible news early Monday morning and they were still waiting to learn whether his body would be returned to Tonga.

In the meantime his father Penisimani Latu has left Tonga for France on Monday, January 12 following the news of his son's sudden death.

Fe'ao of Lakepa, Tongatapu is survived by his young wife Selesitiana Valu Latu of Kolovai and Fou'i and a baby son Penisimani Latu Jr.
