'Ana Teufolau Ma'afu (18) from Kolovai, Tongatapu became the Dux of Tonga High School during their 2008 Prize Giving Ceremony held today, December 3.

The Proxime Accessite was David Lumsden from Dunedin.

The Minister of Education Hon. Rev. Dr Tevita Palefau, the guest of honour for the Prize Giving Ceremony awarded the top students their trophies and other prizes.

The proud Form Seven student topped five of her subjects, which included English, Accounting, French Language, Maths Statistics and Maths Calculus.

'Ana who aims to become an accountant in the future was almost lost for words while giving her thank you speech as the dux.

"This is the most memorable year out of all my years in Tonga High School and all I can say is let God be the Glory because great things can be done."

She said she would take up a scholarship to study Accounting at the University of the South Pacific in Fiji next year.

The graduation ceremonies of government high schools, which also included Tonga College, concluded the 2008 school year for all Tongatapu High Schools.
