A donation of books, textbooks, school uniforms and crayons were presented by Rev 'Ofa Fatafehi to Dr Viliami Fukofuka, Tonga's Director of Education on Thursday, October 9.
Rev 'Ofa Fatafehi, is the local counterpart of the Child Evangelism Fellowship Pinehurst, North Shore, Auckland, New Zealand, who had collected 41 cartons of materials for Tonga.
Dr Viliami Fukofuka said the donation came at the right time as the Ministry of Education was in the process of developing its syllabus and resources.
The school materials were for Class One to Form 7 and the Ministry of Education planned to distribute some of the books to the outer island Government Primary schools in November.
David Ward, the Pinehurst's Property Manager, who organised the donation has also donated school materials to some church high schools in Tongatapu in the past years.
