White 'Faka-Sepitema' today, September 24, in Tonga saw hundreds of women lay preachers of the Church of Tonga dressed in white gathering for their annual roll call.

The Faka-Sepitema is a special day in September when women lay preachers of the Church of Tonga in Tongatapu gather at the main church at Kilikali, central Nuku'alofa to answer their call by simply saying "I am present".

The occasion is special for these women in white because it is the only day in the year that is reserved especially for them.

Mileiti Pulu of Kolonga, a lay preacher, said, "the Faka-Sepitema is important to her in the sense that it renews her calling as a lay preacher, a Christian and a servant of god."

This is also a day out for these women who admitted today is a very happy day for them because they get to meet and chat with other women from the various congregations of their church.

The Free Wesleyan Church also held their Faka-Sepitema today.
