Petroleum prices slightly drop for July-August [1]

The new petroleum prices for July to August will drop slightly, effective from 1 July 2026, the Ministry of Trade and Economic Development (MTED) announced today.

The updated retail prices for Tongatapu are:

  • Petrol: Decreased by 0.10 cent to $4.05 per litre
  • Kerosene: Decreased by 0.90 cent to $3.40 per litre
  • Diesel: Decreased by 0.85 cent to $4.20 per litre

Last week, the Prime Minister Lord Fakafanua announced that Tonga's fuel supply is "green".

He said this is due to the confirmation of scheduled gas tankers arriving on 1, 4, and 26 July, as well as 15 and 17 August.
