Sangster Saulala discharged on 16/11 sedition [1]

Sangster Saulala, the former General Manager of the Oceania Broadcasting Television (OBN), was discharged on Friday July 11 of sedition and riotous assembly charges relating to the riots of November 16, 2006.

Saulala appeared in the Nuku'alofa Supreme Court and was told by Chief Justice Hon Anthony Ford that the Crown had offered no evidence on his case.

The Chief Justice therefore formally discharged him of the charges of sedition and riotous assembly.

The hearing was arraigned to begin this month at the Supreme Court.
