Public service Christmas vacation begins 22 December [1]

The Public Service Christmas vacation 2025/2026 will begin from 22 December 2025 to 2 January 2026, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) stated.

The Government Christmas Vacation 2025/2026 was approved by Cabinet on 24 October.

The Public Service will resume duty for the New Year 2026 at 8:30am Monday, 5 January 2026.

"During the Christmas Vacation, the public should note that the Government’s essential services will continue to operate such as the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Police and Customs Division and respective Ministries will announce their operating hours, in due course," PMO noted.

The Christmas Vacation period will be followed by the usual Week of Prayer of the New Year, with the Public Service working hours ending at 4:00pm during the week.
