Tonga will observe an additional public holiday on 4 November 2025, following the Constitution Day public holiday on Monday, 3 November.
The additonal holiday falls on a Tuesday and in accordance with Section 2(b) of the Public Holidays Act.
The Prime Minister’s Office said any specified holiday that falls on a Tuesday or a Wednesday will be observed on the preceding Monday.
Therefore, the annual Constitution Day public holiday will be observed on Monday, 3 November 2025.
“However, in recognition of the 150th Anniversary of the Constitution of Tonga, an additional one-off public holiday will also be observed on Tuesday, 4th November 2025 — the actual date of the Constitution — to mark this historic national occasion."
The additional public holiday was approved by His Majesty’s Cabinet on 10 October and will be observed throughout the Kingdom along with the Constitution Day public holiday.
