Japan builds new staff quarters for Ngele'ia Primary School [1]

The Japanese Ambassador to Tonga, HE Masashi Namekawa visited the Government Primary School of Ngele'ia, in Nuku'alofa to hand over two new staff quarters, yesterday morning.
The Ngele'ia Primary School project was funded under the Japanese Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects, with a grant of $128,000 pa'anga.
Located within the Primary school compound, the two staff quarters consist of a kitchen, two bedrooms, a lounge area and bathroom, with two new water tanks holding up to 10,000 litres of water.
The construction began in August last year by local company Tonga Timber Ltd.
Japan's Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects focuses on financing projects that help people with their basic needs so they can improve their way of life.
Ambassador Masashi Namekawa, who is based in Suva, Fiji, said that he enjoyed the occasion, which give him an opportunity to experience the Tongan culture and way of life. He said education is very important in the sense that it shapes the future of a nation thus empowering individuals to become credible members of society.
The Japanese Ambassador returned to Fiji yesterday, June 5.
