Tonga to host SPC high level meetings in October [1]

Tonga will host the next Pacific Community (SPC) Governing Meeting and 14th Ministerial Conference in Nuku’alofa, from 13-17 October.
Welcoming SPC member countries ahead of the meeting, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, HRH Crown Prince Tupouto’a 'Ulukalala said that this is an opportunity for member countries to ensure the works of SPC is supporting our territories. His welcome address was posted as a video on the Pacific Community - SPC facebook page.
“It will also celebrate our Pacific heritage and the importance of Pacific-led for and from our communities.” he said.
The Minister said this year’s meetings will provide actions and outcomes to guide the SPC’s work to continue supporting the region.
This meeting will mark the 14th Conference of SPC which will be held alongside SPC's annual governing meeting of the Committee of Representatives of Governments and Administrations (CRGA55).
The 13th SPC conference was previously held at Nouma, New Caledonia on 26 October 2023. The conference had four side events on Food Systems, Climate Change, Gender Equality, and Statistics.
