In a paternity suit brought by his uncle, the Tongan noble Hon. Havea Tuiha'ateiho appeared in the Nuku'alofa Land Court today.
The plaintiff is Fonomanu Veikune, a brother of Hon. Havea Tuiha'ateiho's father (the late Noble Tuiha'ateiho formerly known as Salesi Veikune).
He claimed that the current Noble Tu'iha'ateiho is not the real son of the late noble but instead he is the son of a matapule, namely the former Minister Police Siaosi Faletau (formerly Hon. 'Akau'ola).
The plaintiff therefore disputed that because the noble is not the real son of the late Tu'iha'ateiho he is therefore not the rightful holder of the title.
The plaintiff, who was not present in court, was represented by Laki Niu.
Chief Justice Anthony Ford adjourned the case for a direction hearing on July 11, before a date is set for the hearing to continue.
Tu'iha'ateiho is the only son of the late noble Tu'iha'ateiho and the late Afu Ha'apai Vaha'i. He is married to Nicolette Tupou Moheofo Tupouniua
His estates include Vaikeli, Ha'ateiho in Tongatapu, Matuku, and Tungua, Ha'ateiho in Ha'apai and Ha'ateiho in Vava'u.
