Secretary Rice meets the Tongan PM [1]

The U.S. Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice met the Prime Minister of Tonga, Dr. Feleti Sevele in Washington, yesterday, May 14.
The Secretary underlined the value the United States places on its strong and long-standing relations with Tonga, and she thanked Dr Feleti Sevele for the support and the service that the Tongan Marines were giving in Iraq.
A report from the US Embassy, Suva, Fiji stated that Secretary Rice and Prime Minister Sevele also discussed the situation in Fiji. Dr Sevele, the current Chairman of the Pacific Islands Forum confirmed that the PIF expects Fiji to hold elections by March 2009 as promised by Fiji's Interim Prime Minister in Tonga last year.
While in Washington Dr Sevele also met with officials at the Pentagon, including Deputy Secretary of Defense, Gordon England.
