Fantastic island creations using traditional materials were showcased tonight, 4 July, by the Miss Heilala contestants during the Miss Heilala Pageant crowning night at the Tonga High Indoor Stadium in Nuku'alofa.

The seven contestants wore unique island creations made from natural fibres and local materials, including fine woven mats, tapa cloth, coconut fiber, shells, and pandanus.

The Island Creation category, a crowd favorite, was just included in the competition this year.

The top three with the most outstanding Island Creations will receive: Best Island Creation with $2000 pa'anga, first runner-up with $1500, and second runner-up with $1000.
