Seven Miss Heilala contestants showcased their elegance and poise in the Tau'olunga competition tonight, 3 July, at the Tonga High Indoor Stadium in Nuku'alofa, marking the second show of the Miss Heilala 2025 Pageant.
The traditional Tongan dance performances were beautifully accompanied by kava clubs from across Tongatapu.
The dancers wore variations of the traditional costume made from Tongan flowers and plants. They performed to some famous compositions of Queen Salote Tupou III, including "Siu'ilikutapu," "The 'Upe 'O Manumataongo," and "Leiola."
The top three Tau'olunga dancers will receive cash prizes: the best Tau'olunga will be awarded $1000 pa'anga, the first runner-up $700, and the second runner-up $500.
The panel of judges included 'Alifeleti Falekaono, Fakahoko Taufa; Anelisa Vi, Vatuvei, and Kotoni Siale.
They judged composition, choreography, skill and grace, and the traditional artistry of movement of the contestants.
