The Women in Media (WiM) Fiji inaugural media conference this week in Suva, is bringing together participants from Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, Vanuatu, the Solomon Islands, Niue, and Kiribati.
With the theme, "Resilience in a Rapidly Evolving Media Landscape", the event from 17-18 June, at the Grand Pacific Hotel aims to bring together women content producers across the region to collaborate, share knowledge, and to grow professionally and personally.
WiM Fiji co-founder and Fijian Media Association President Rosi Doviverata said the conference would allow women journalists and participants to share their experiences, and will help to foster connections across the Pacific. “And to explore strategic pathways for advancing women's voices in media."
WiM Fiji is an initiative of the Fijian Media Association (FMA) and was set up in February 2022 during an elections workshop where lawyer Ana Tuiketei raised the importance of having an association dedicated to women journalists.
