Parliamentary Select Committee drafts response to King’s address [1]

Nine Members of Parliament are drafting the Legislature's official response to the address by King Tupou VI on the opening of parliament’s 2025 session on Friday.
The Parliamentary Select Committee responsible for drafting the response held a meeting yesterday 26 May, in the Legislative Assembly Conference Room.
The committee’s report is expected to be tabled in Parliament when the House reconvenes tomorrow, Wednesday, 28 May, at 10:00 AM.
The Speaker, Lord Fakafanua, named nine MPs on the committee, including the Prime Minister Hon. Dr. ʻAisake Eke; Minister for Foreign Affairs Crown Prince Tupoutoʻa ʻUlukalala; and Minister for Internal Affairs; Hon. Sinaitakala Tuʻitahi from Cabinet. From the Noble's Representatives, Lord Tuʻiʻafitu, Lord Tuʻihaʻangana, and Lord Fohe, and from the People’s Representatives, Hon. Siaosi Sovaleni (Huʻakavameiliku), Hon. Tevita Puloka, and Hon. Dr. Moʻale ʻOtunuku.
