King and Queen to attend installation of Fiji's Lau chiefs in July [1]

King Tupou VI and Queen Nanasipau’u will make a State visit to Fiji from 8 to 12 July to attend the installation ceremony of the Sau Ni Vanua Ko Lau and Tui Lau chiefs.
Ratu Tevita Uluilakeba Mara, as the head of Mataqali Vuanirewa, Tubou Village, invited the King and the Queen to attend the ceremony to be held on 10 July in Tubou Village, Lakeba, Lau, the Fijian government stated today.
The Fijian government stated this invitation acknowledged the shared heritage and the enduring historical and cultural connections between Lau and Tonga. To ensure the visit's success, "an inter-agency task force has been established to coordinate the visit."
