NZ Deputy PM to lead Pacific Mission to Tonga this week [1]

New Zealand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Rt. Hon. Winston Peters will be leading a Pacific Mission to Tonga this week. This mission will include a cross-party delegation of approximately 40 members, including three Cabinet Ministers, Parliament Members, and other officials.
The delegation is scheduled to arrive on Thursday, 10 April, and will have a full-day program on Friday, 11 April, before departing on Saturday, 12 April.
During a media briefing on Friday in Nuku'alofa, PM Hon. Dr 'Aisake Eke announced that the Cabinet Ministers will engage in official meetings with New Zealand counterparts.
The Pacific Mission includes:
- Minister for Climate Change, Minister for Energy, Minister for Local Government, and Minister for Revenue, Hon. Simon Watts
- Minister for Pacific Peoples, Minister for Science, Innovation and Technology, Minister for Statistics, Minister for Universities, Hon. Dr Shane Reti
- Minister for Courts, Associate Minister for Justice, Hon. Nicole McKee
- Hon. Carmel Sepuloni
- Hon. Jenny Salesa
- Teanau Tuiono MP
- Tim van de Molen MP
- Andy Foster MP
Spouses, MFAT officials, and media members are also included in the delegation.
Rt. Hon. Peters led the previous Pacific Mission to Tonga last year.
