Franz Tu‘uhetoka, new CEO of Public Service Commission [1]

Mr. Franz Koenig Tu’uhetoka is the new Chief Executive Officer for the Public Service Commission, appointed by the Prime Minister for a four year term, starting today, 24 March 2025.
The Public Service Commission’s office stated that Mr Tu’uhetoka was well-positioned for the role.
“His strong academic background, combined with decades of experience in Public Service, has positioned him well to lead the Commission in fulfilling its mandate.”
He succeeds Mrs Victorina Kioa, who resigned earlier this year.
Mr Tu'uhetoka had served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the PSC since 2021. He holds a Master's degree in Public Policy from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems and Computing Science from the University of the South Pacific, Fiji, and a Diploma in Information Technology from the Tonga Institute of Higher Education.
Background
Mr. Tu’uhetoka began working as a Clerk Class 3 in the Establishment Division of the Prime Minister’s office in 1994. He was later promoted to Computer Operator Grade II in May 2002 in the same office. Following the transition of the Establishment Division into the Public Service Commission, Mr. Tu’uhetoka was promoted again to Assistant Computer Programmer in 2003. He became a Computer Programmer in 2012, Senior Computer Programmer in 2014 then Principal Assistant Secretary in 2016.
Mr. Tu’uhetoka comes from Pangai, Ha’apai and lives at Fanga-'o-Pilolevu.
