Police Drugs Squad seizes cannabis, firearms and cash [1]

The Tonga Police Drugs Squad seized cannabis, firearms and cash, and arrested four people in separate operations on Friday 7 March.
Acting on reports received, Police arrested a 51-year-old male from Fua'amotu, seizing 35 packs of alleged cannabis weighing 11.46 grams, and $27 pa'anga. The suspect is currently in police custody and investigations are ongoing.
Another operation resulted in the arrest of a 38-year-old male suspect from Ngele'ia for possession of drugs and drug utensils. The squad seized cannabis leaves and seeds weighing 0.39 grams, along with drug utensils. The suspect remains in police custody as investigations continue.
Acting on intelligence reports on drug possession and distribution, the squad arrested a 54-year-old male and a 51-year-old female, both from Houma. A raid led to the seizure of 40 packs of cannabis weighing 674.54 grams, 1 M6 Rifle, 7 live bullets, and cash $237 pa'anga. Both suspects are currently in police custody with investigations ongoing.
Tonga Police urged the public to come forward with any information that may help in ongoing investigations or to report any illicit drug activities.
