Paula Taumoepeau is the new President of the Tonga Chamber of Commerce and Industries Inc. Following the Annual General Meeting on March 27.

The meeting held at the EuroAsia Bar and Restaurant elected the executive officers of the Chamber for 2008-09:

President: Paula Taumoepeau;

Vice President: Tsutomu Nakao;

Secretary: Sue Gardiner;

Assistant Secretary: Tricia Emberson;

Treasurer: Aloma Johansson;

Assistant Treasurer: Paula Tu'utafaiva;

Legal Advisor: Tu'inukutavake Afeaki;

Councillors: Stan Moheloa, Molisoni Otukolo, Kaitu'u Fotu, and Kololiana Naufahu;

Alternate Councilors: Felicia Mahoni and Chris Mafi;

Auditor: Knowton Ita'aehau.

The immediate past president, Tapu Panuve, was made the Honorary Vice President in the Council.
