New Zealand Company to privatize Lupepau'u Airport [1]

A New Zealand company is set to privatize and renovate the Lupepau’u Airport in Vava’u however, no further information regarding the company was revealed by the Acting Prime Minister, Hon. Samiu Vaipulu, at a Press Conference with local media today.
“It’s a company from New Zealand but that’s all I can tell you, I can’t tell you who the other companies that are involved,” he said.
Hon. Samiu Vaipulu said that the company approached them with an offer to renovate the airport in Vava’u.
He also said that this would be a good investment for Vava’u and that it’s necessary for the country’s economic development for the future.
People's Representatives
The Acting PM hoped that the People’s Representatives would work together again and that there are ongoing discussions about resolution between them.
“That’s what [I] hope for, for the People’s Representatives to work together.”
Meanwhile, when asked about the vying candidates for the Prime Ministerial election next week, Hon. Samiu Vaipulu did not reveal any nominated candidates.
Vanuatu Aid
The Tongan Government will send aid to Vanuatu. Hon Vaipulu said that cabinet agreed to send $100,000pa'anga relief aid to Vanuatu and $50,000 pa'anga relief for the Tongan community in Port Vila.
He said that they were working on sending the aid to Vanuatu but no specific timeline was specified for when the work will be done.
He also noted that there were reports from Vanuatu regarding the Tongan Community in Port Vila but he could not release any details at this stage.
