Chief of the Defence Staff, Brigadier Lord Fielakepa was made an Honorary Officer of the Order of Australia, Military Division, by the Governor-General of Australia, HE Hon. Ms. Sam Mostyn AC, on 20 November, at Government House in Canberra, Australia.

HE Mostyn AC presented Brigadier Lord Fielakepa with the award during a ceremony, attended by the Chief of the Defence Force of Australia, Admiral David Johnston, and Acting High Commissioner of Tonga to Australia, Mr. Curtis Tuihalangingie.

The award recognizes Brigadier Lord Fielakepa's exceptional service and leadership of His Majesty’s Armed Forces, his efforts in promoting peace and stability within the region, and his role in building close relationship between His Majesty’s Armed Forces and the Australian Defence Force.

Brigadier Lord Fielakepa was accompanied by Lady Fielakepa, Force Sergeant Major SWO S. Lolomana’ia, and family members residing in Australia.
