Three Samsung sponsored digital classrooms were opened today, 10 April, at Tonga High School, Queen Salote College and Tonga College ‘Atele, on Tongatapu.
These digital classrooms were a cooperative project between Samsung NZ, the Korean Embassy in New Zealand and the Ministry of Education Tonga.
The Prime Minister, Hon Hu'akavameiliku said that the classrooms would produce a modern learning environment for Tongan students.
"This project was designed to develop and help Tongan students, the intention was to introduce modern learning tools.
"We are hoping that with the support of Korea and Samsung, we can extend similar opportunities to other schools in Tonga," he said.
The Korean Embassy in New Zealand funded the refurbishment of the new digital classrooms and Samsung NZ donated electronic tools such as smart monitors, tablets and other equipment.
