Tongan officers qualify as firearms training instructors [1]

Two Tongan Police Officers have trained in New Zealand to become firearms instructors to deliver components of live fire and tactical training in Tonga.

Senior Constable ‘Inoke Vaka and Constable Jose Hamala completed a two-weeks Police National Firearms Instructors certification course, in Auckland, alongside New Zealand Police.

Tonga Police said that they looked forward to their new skills being used to support the operations training in Tonga.

"We are proud of their achievements and representation of Tonga Police while in New Zealand," they stated

The training consisted of numerous assessments which included dealing with critical incidents.
