PM meets China's regional Foreign Affairs Dep. Director General [1]

In a continued effort to strengthen relations between the government of Tonga and China, the Prime Minister Hon. Hu’akavameiliku, held a bilateral meeting with the Deputy Director-General of the Department of North American and Oceania Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, Mr. Tang Zhiwen, on 13 March, at the Cabinet Chamber, in Nuku'alofa.
The Prime Minister's Office stated that “During his one-day visit to Tonga, they discussed areas of mutual interest in strengthening China-Tonga friendly relations and exchange [sic] views on issues of common concern for both countries.”
Mr. Tang is in charge of bilateral relations between China and Australia, New Zealand, and Pacific Islands countries.
The Prime Minister had recently returned from his audience with King Tupou VI in Niuafo'ou.
