Tonga and Nauru talk about deep sea mining [1]

Discussing collaboration on mutual interests in deep sea mining, the Prime Minister Hon. Hu’akavameiliku held a bilateral meeting with the President of the Republic of Nauru HE David Adeang on 1 March 2024.

“This is timely opportunity for a closer bilateral relationship with the Republic of Nauru in Tonga’s collective effort to ensure our Pacific region is safe, resilient and prosperous,” he said.

They also discussed pending assumption of the Pacific Islands Forum chair and the transition of the post of Forum Secretary General from Henry Puna to Baron Waqa.
