The Pacific Community (SPC) has appointed Elsie Fukofuka as its Regional Director, Polynesia, stationed at its Regional Office in Nuku’alofa, Tonga, as from 23 February 2024.

Elsie was formerly a Pacific advisor at the Tonga Ministry of Foreign Affairs and had worked for the Government of Tonga for 19 years.

“During her tenure [with Foreign Affairs], she has been instrumental in leading and managing the Pacific Division, ensuring strategic engagement with bilateral, regional, and multilateral partners,” SPC stated.

“Elsie brings her wealth of experience in facilitating program implementation and delivery to stakeholders, mobilizing resources for development, and acting as a key foreign policy advisor on the Pacific to highranking officials.”
