Tourists from the Ambience Cruise Ship crowded the Nuku'alofa central business district (CBD), with some of them in search of cold beers, today, 15 February 2024.
Those looking for a taste of cold beer struggled to find any.
An elderly British couple told Matangi Tonga that they had been "in an out of restaurants and they don’t serve beers!"
They were later guided by locals to Friends Café in Town, where beer is available and it was packed with tourists.

The Ambience departed Rarotonga, Cook Islands yesterday and docked Vuna Wharf in Nuku'alofa this morning at 8:00am.
The ship’s next port will be Auckland, New Zealand, departing Tonga at 6:00pm today.
