New forensics equipment and patrol car for Tonga Police [1]

Tonga Police received new forensics equipment and patrol car in a handover ceremony with the Embassy of China on 19 January.
Ambassador-designate of China to Tonga, HE Mr Ruan Dewen, said that the equipment and patrol car would help Tonga Police to investigate different crime offences. “Especially drug related offences, which is a headache for every country,” he said.
The Police Commissioner, Shane McLennan thanked the Chinese Embassy for their assistance and said that they would put the equipment and the patrol car to full use to combat crime and ensure social stability in Tonga.
The Deputy Police Commissioner, Tevita Vailea, Cmdr Filipe Fifita and other senior officers also attended the ceremony.
