Three vehicles collide at small boat harbour [1]

Three cars collided on Vuna Road at Ma’ufanga during heavy rain just before 5:00pm, on 19 January. One car ended up on the pavement just short of falling into the small boat harbour, and all three vehicles were damaged.
The accident occurred near the intersection of Vuna Rd and Kinikini Rd at Ma’ufanga.
The driver of the black vehicle was injured.
After the accident, by-standers who witnessed the accident said the driver of the black vehicle sustained the most injuries.
"There was something sticking out of his head - it looked like a piece of glass," one witness said. Bystanders called the ambulance and authorities.
The accident caused one of the vehicles to slide off the road and almost into the the sea. There are no posts or barriers on the pavement along the edge of the small boat harbour.
Meanwhile, there have not been any updates on the situation or the condition of the injured party. Tonga Police advised people to drive safely in the hot, wet January weather.
This is the first major accident for 2024.
The Tonga Deputy Police Commissioner, Tevita Vailea previously told Matangi Tonga that there had been no major accidents since the start of the New Year.
