Ambassador-designate of Japan to Tonga, HE Mr. Hisao Inagaki.

The Ambassador-designate of Japan to Tonga, HE Mr. Hisao Inagaki arrived in Nuku’alofa on Friday, 15 December 2023. Mr. Inagaki will be the sixth resident Ambassador of Japan to Tonga.

Mr. Inagaki previously served as the Consul General of Japan in Seattle, USA from 21 August 2020 to 23 September 2023..

He joined Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1985 after completing his postgraduate studies at Tokyo Institute of Technology.

He has also served as Principal Senior Coordinator for Information and Communications Systems in the Information and Communications Division and as Director of Internet Public Relations Division, the IT and Public Information Office in the Public Information, Culture and Diplomacy Strategy Division.

Mr. Inagaki succeeds H.E. Mr. Kensaku Munenaga, who served three years as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Kingdom of Tonga.
