The Women’s Affairs and Gender Equality Division (WAGED), of the Ministry of Internal Affairs launched the "16 Days of Activism" in Tonga, an international campaign to end violence against women and children.

The 16 Days of Activism was launched with a walk and float campaign on Saturday 25 November, and an official program that was held at the Maama Mo'onia Hall, at Neiafu.

WAGED was joined together by different organisations both from Government and Non-government organisations, including the Family Free Of Violence (FFOV), Women and Children Crisis Center (WCCC), Tonga Police, and others.

The 16 Days of Activism Campaign will run until 10 December, which is Human Rights Day.
