A cheque for $52,306 pa'anga was donated to Her Majesty’s Charity by the Peau Kula Art Fundraiser, yesterday, 17 October.

Tanya Edwards, a local visual artist and a New Zealand Artist, Benjamin Work, presented the cheque to HM Queen Nanasipau’u, at the Royal Palace.

The donations were proceeds from the Peau Kula Art Fundraiser for Tonga, held following the Hunga-Tonga Hunga-Ha'apai eruption on 15 January 2022.

Her Majesty’s Charity provides support for affected families and victims of the disaster, and has continued to distribute relief and humanitarian supplies, including care packages to the elderly and vulnerable members in the commuinities of Tongatapu, Vava’u, Ha’apai, ‘Eua and the Niuas.

The Peau Kula Art Fundraiser was a collaborative effort of Benjamin Work and fellow NZ artist, Elliot O’Donnell, alongside other local and international artists including, Tanya Edwards and Serene Tay-Siasau in Tonga, and others.

Her Majesty’s Charity Committee thanked the donors for their continued efforts and support for the affected communities and families.
