Tonga flights remain on schedule [1]

There was minimum disruption to international air services to Tonga during the weekend as Cyclone Daman moved around Fiji.

The only international flight that was cancelled was the Air Pacific Tonga - Suva flight on Friday, December 7.

The Tonga agent for Air Pacific Lovely Maka of the E.M. Jones Travel, confirmed today that the Air Pacific resumed its schedule on Saturday, December 8.

The southbound international flights were unaffected. The Air New Zealand Nuku'alofa office said today, that none of their flights were disrupted during the weekend and all went on schedule.

The Pacific Blue Airline did not experience any disruption with their southbound weekend service.

The Tropical Cyclone Alert for central and southern Tonga was cancelled on December 9 and Tropical Cyclone Daman weakened into a depression overnight.

Thunderstorms

The weather forecast for Tonga to midnight tomorrow is fresh to strong East to Northeast winds, gusty at times, cloudy with occasional rain, heavy at times, and a few isolated thunderstorms. According to the Fua'amotu forecaster the outlook for Wednesday December 12 is mostly cloudy with some showers over most places.

The marine weather bulletin for midnight tomorrow for all Tonga waters issues a strong wind warning and a heavy swells warning remains in force for all waters.
