Tongan-Australian vocal duo and siblings Vika and Linda Bull were awarded the Artistic Excellence Award of the 2023 Australian Women in Music Awards (AWMA) ceremony.

 A total of 23 artists and industry figures were honoured at the ceremony, which was staged in Brisbane on 27 September.

"This is really important for us … We love what we do," said Linda Bull. "I'm absolutely gobsmacked because the only thing I've ever won is a diving trophy!”

"We're just so proud as sisters and women to have had such a long career in the Australian music industry."

From singing with Paul Kelly, Kasey Chambers and John Farnham, through to being session guns-for-hire and acclaimed artists in their own right, Vika and Linda Bulls' game-changing career spans three decades, stated the ABC.

The AWMA win comes off the back of continued touring behind 2021's The Wait, their first original album in 19 years, and last year's memoir, No Bull.

The vocal duo are widely known throughout Australia, and have had number one hits on the Australian music charts.
