Training aims to improve Tonga's national aviation security [1]

Aiming to improve Tonga’s aviation security, New Zealand Civil Aviation (NZCAA) officials delivered two separate trainings funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 5-14 September 2023 in Nuku'alofa.
Mandy Mellor and Sandra Renner from NZCAA delivered two separate 9-day trainings on the topics of Dangerous Goods Awareness and Aviation Security Culture, for officers across Tonga’s aviation Industry.
The Ministry of Infrastructure stated that the training would help to move Tonga forward in building the capacity of aviation security, both in operations and regulatory levels.
Training was held at the Lulutai Office and Civil Aviation Division’s office in Tongatapu and also on the outer islands of Ha’apai, Vava’u, ‘Eua.
Participants were issued certificates on completion of their training.
