Petroleum prices increased for September [1]

The Ministry of Trade and Economic Development advised that the Tonga Competent Authority (TCA) has approved the new petroleum prices for this month, effective from 19 September.

The Tongatapu retail prices for petrol will increase by 20 cents to $3.69 per litre, kerosene will increase by 36 cents to $3.00, and diesel increase by 36 cents to $3.85 per litre.

Liquefied petroleum gas

Meanwhile, the retail price for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has decreased in Tongatapu and outer islands, effective from today, 19 September.

The decreased price for Tongatapu is by

Vava’u, Ha'apai, 'Eua, and Niua (by 0.50/kg and 0.55/kg)

Tongatapu from $4.60 to $4.10 by (by 50 cents)

Vavau from $4.70 to $4.15 by (by 55 cents)

Pangai Ha’apai from $5.80 to $5.25 (by 55 cents)

‘Ohonua ‘Eua from $5.65 to $5.10 (by 55 cents)

Hihifo Niua from $6.95 to $6.40 (by 55 cents)
