Tonga’s National Women’s U-16 Young Mataliki gained victory on their first debut at the Oceania Football Confederation U-16 Women’s Championship 2023, in a match against Solomon Islands 5-1, today, at the Pater Te Hono Nui Stadium in Tahiti.
The team performed a strong first half, leading in the break 3-0 to Solomon Islands, and then scored two points on the final half, to Solomon's 1.
Also recognising a young star, the Vice Captain Tama’a Faletau who scored all 5 goals for Tonga, and was named Best Player of the opening tournament.
