Australian Warship HMAS Parramatta in Tonga [1]

An Australian Warship, HMAS Parramatta, will visit the Kingdom of Tonga from 14 to17 June 2004 as part of the ongoing Defence Relationship with Tonga.
This will be HMAS Parramatta's first overseas visit since Commissioning on 4 October 2003.
The main purpose of the visit is to promote continuation of the strong relationship between the Australian Defence Force and Tonga. It will also be an opportunity for the crew to undergo recreation prior to participating in Exercise RIMPAC - an annual United States led multilateral exercise involving seven countries.
HMAS Parramatta, an ANZAC Class Frigate, has an overall length of 118 meters, a displacement of 3,600 tons, and a crew of 172 Officers and Sailors. She is also capable of supporting helicopter operations and will have a Seahawk Helicopter.
Whilst in Tonga the crew will be involved in many social, sporting and community engagements. - Australian High Commission
